About the Team
Grannis Gallery, opened in 1998, is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Susan Hurd and Timothy Grannis. Timothy's work has been shown in exhibitions across the country, and is sold both nationally and internationally in fine jewelry stores and galleries. A gifted designer and metalworker who grew up in a family of artists, he began making jewelry at an early age. Timothy has a degree in fine arts from the University of Vermont, and has studied with one of the worlds premiere master goldsmiths and developer of many techniques used in goldsmithing today, renowned Finnish metalsmith Heikki Seppa. Timothy's many accomplishments as an exhibiting sculptor in metalwork include the honor of fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Vermont Council on the Arts. He accepted an invitation to exhibit at the vice president's residence by Barbara and Walter Mondale, and is an award winner in the 2002 Saul Bell Design Competition.

Susan moved to Vermont from Idaho in 1987 and has been surrounded by artists and musicians for most of her adult life. An irrepressible guitar player, she has traveled widely performing in a number of string bands. In 1993 Susan realized her heart's work was to promote art and artists. She went to work for art-to-wear clothing designer Lynn Yarrington doing sales and administration. Opening the Grannis Gallery has been a realization of that heart dream.
